Ballrechten-Dottingen – A great place for wines and relaxation
At the top of the Castellberg you find the remains of a celtic fortress as well as an observation tower, which provide superb views over the Black Forest, the Vosges and the Rhine Valley.
The Castellberg, with its 440 meters, is the landmark of the wine-growing village Ballrechten-Dottingen and represents an island of southern vegetation. Feel free to visit the historic oak of justice at the parking lot just underneath the Castellberg. This is also the starting point for many of our tours, such as the Nordic Walking paths, the Mountainbike trails, the circular paths around the Castell- and Fohrenberg and the Wine and Nature trails. Our local restaurants, the Castellberg-Keller and the winemakers, where you can also sample the delicious local wines, as well as their hosts are looking forward to your visit.
